Case & slug
Transform a text into several formats
Convert text between the common naming conventions: camelCase, snake_case, kebab-case, PascalCase, and produce a clean slug for a URL. Accents and punctuation are handled along the way.
How it works
A slug is built in three steps: strip diacritics, replace anything that is neither letter nor digit with a separator, then collapse consecutive separators. That is what guarantees a readable, stable URL whatever the original title.
Frequently asked questions
Kebab-case or snake_case in a URL?
The hyphen is the established convention for URLs, and search engines treat it as a word separator. The underscore is historically treated as a word character, so my_article can be read as a single term.
Should accents be kept in a URL?
Technically they can be, but the URL gets percent-encoded the moment it is copied, which makes it unreadable. Transliterating remains the safer practice.
